What to bring to your swimming lessons

  • Swimming togs
  • Towel
  • Goggles
  • Swim cap – not compulsory but is especially good for kids with long hair
  • Hair tie
  • Warm clothing to leave the facility
  • Your access card to get through the gate (if you are new to our lessons please pick this up before your first lesson)

Hygiene

To ensure that everyone enjoys the facility please follow these simple guidelines:

Please do not bring your child to lessons if they have had diarrhoea in the last 2 weeks.

Children who are not toilet trained are required to wear a swim nappy. Disposable swim nappies can be purchased from the front desk for $2.

Please shower before entering the pool especially if they have muddy knees etc. The showers on poolside are great for this.

Centre entry

Each child has an access card which the parent can also use at the gate, additional spectators will need to ask at reception for a pass or access into the pools.

If there is outstanding money owed on the account, the card will be blocked from access and payment needs to be paid at reception or online prior to lesson.

Swim school participants are able to swim after their lesson at no extra charge. Please refrain from allowing your child to swim before their lessons as the tutors have found they often get distracted and are late for their lesson or are not able to perform at 100% during their lesson.

Medical considerations

If there are any children with extra needs or medical conditions that are relevant to their learning or safety, please let the Swim School Leadership Team know. We want them to feel that they are in a comfortable and safe environment.

Assessments and progression

The continuous assessment procedure means that students will be assessed throughout the term rather than having to wait till assessment week at the end of term. Instructors will recommend when they think a child is ready to move and inform the Swim School Leadership Team. A team member will come out and observe the child. If the team member agrees that the child is ready, we will notify you of the child's progression. You will receive an email and/or a progression token which can be taken to customer service who will help you find a new class for the next level.

Teacher changes

We aim to keep the tutors as consistent as possible however there are times where tutor changes will occur. We cannot guarantee instructors term to term however please be assured that all tutors are trained and qualified in swim teaching. They undergo regular training sessions to maintain high teaching standards.
