General Information

What to bring to your swimming lessons

  • Swimming togs
  • Towel
  • Goggles
  • Swim cap – not compulsory but is especially good for kids with long hair
  • Hair tie
  • Warm clothing to leave the facility
  • Your access card to get through the gate (if you are new to our lessons please pick this up before your first lesson)

To ensure that everyone enjoys the facility please follow these simple guidelines:

Please do not bring your child to lessons if they have had diarrhoea in the last 2 weeks.

Children who are not toilet trained are required to wear a swim nappy. Disposable swim nappies can be purchased from the front desk for $2.

Please shower before entering the pool especially if they have muddy knees etc. The showers on poolside are great for this.

Centre entry

Your child's access card is required to get through the gate. One parent or caregiver can also be allocated a red parent card to gain access to the pool. Additional spectators must queue at reception for a visit pass. If you lose your access card you will be required to pay $5 for a replacement card.

If you have outstanding fees on your account you will not be able to gain access to the facility.

Swim school participants are able to swim after their lesson at no extra charge. Please refrain from allowing your child to swim before their lessons as the tutors have found they often get distracted and are late for their lesson or are not able to perform at 100% during their lesson.

Medical considerations

If there are any children with extra needs or medical conditions that are relevant to their learning, please let the Swim School Supervisor know.  It makes such a difference to how the tutor will teach the children. We want them to feel that they are in a comfortable and safe environment.

Assessments and progression

The continuous assessment procedure means that students will be assessed throughout the term rather than having to wait till assessment week at the end of term. Instructors will recommend when they think a child is ready to move and in the following weeks the Swim School Supervisor will come out and observe the child. If the Supervisor agrees that the child is ready we will check availability and either move the child or notify you that you need to arrange a new time. You will receive an email either way.

Teacher changes

We aim to keep the tutors as consistent as possible however there are times where tutor changes will occur. We cannot guarantee instructors term to term however please be assured that all tutors are trained and qualified in swim teaching. They undergo regular training sessions to maintain high teaching standards.
