School Age Lessons

Our school age classes go through a 7 level programme. From level one where we work on confidence and floating, to level seven where we focus on fitness and refining technique. In these classes, there will always be a level to suit your child’s ability, no matter what stage they are at. We also work on water safety techniques throughout all seven levels.

Our school age classes go through a 7 level programme. There is a max of 6 children in these classes.

Focus of classes:

  • Safe entry and exit
  • Water confidence and Submerge and blowing bubbles (5 seconds)
  • Float assisted front and back

Focus of classes:

  • Front and back float/glides unassisted
  • Streamlined kicking front and back 5m
  • Horizontal rotation

Focus of classes:

  • Freestyle arms with kick 8m
  • Backstroke 8m
  • Breaststroke leg action

Focus of classes:

  • 1,2,3, Breathing 16m
  • Backstroke 16m
  • Breaststroke - 2 cycles with correct timing

Focus of classes:

  • 25m Freestyle
  • 25m Backstroke
  • Breaststroke 10m
  • Dolphin Body Action 10m

Focus of classes:

  • 50m Freestyle
  • 50m Backstroke
  • 25m Breaststroke
  • 200m continuous swimming (freestyle, backstroke or breaststroke)

Focus of classes:

  • Freestyle with continuous bilateral breathing with correct timing strong kick. (up to 200m)
  • Freestyle tumble turns with glide off wall.
  • Backstroke with continuous arms with correct timing, Rotation and kick. (up to 150m)
  • Backstroke tumble turns with glide off wall.
  • Breaststroke with timing correct kick and pull (Lay out skills, up to 100m)
  • Breaststroke Pull outs.
  • 25m Butterfly - Butterfly Left / right arm drill with time of kick in place (Fins)
  • 10m underwater
  • Dive from block  with 5m Streamline

Individual Lessons

We run individual or private swimming lessons with a maximum of two children to a class. These are great for kids who just need that little bit extra to help them move on to the next level or for when they are really struggling with one of their individual goals. The best time to book these classes is during the holidays but we can also arrange them during the school term.

Holiday Programme

We run block lessons in the school holidays where you book in for a week and come in at the same time every day over that week. We find these lessons to be very good for giving your child an extra boost in confidence and ability. With the lessons being consecutive over the week, this helps to cement the information they learnt from the previous day and commit these learnings into muscle memory. Holidays are also a really good time to book in private lessons.
